You are the one who turned me onto my current tower After my run of terrible CLCs lol Sorry for semi jacking your thread bonami. And yeah being in canada(not that hot) you should be able to get past stock with a cheapie cooler.

Most can't even handle stock lol. Yeah there are many inconsistencies with most cooler reviews. Hell you can mount the exact same cooler 4 times and get different results each time lol So its a bit tricky to get a proper base line. I went from a 240m AIO(admittedly cheaper than the h110i) to my current dual tower and the outcome was amazing!

(well over 10c all round) But I have to deal with much higher ambient temps here in Aus. In winter the AIO performed on par/if not better than the dual tower, but when ambient temps went over 30c at the start of spring I had to drop to stock volts, and then when the 40-50c ambients of summer rolled in I had to undervolt just to stay within operating temps. Where as with my air cooler I was able to stay @ stock volt 4.2 OC all through summer.

Being in Canada that should not be a problem at all and the H110i will likely be better. But as Doyll said it will be louder. Damn it hot in aus Well i think electricity cost is high too. Here my home is like between 19-23 celsius all years round. A/C on full blast in summer = 19-21c.

Once again thanks for the suggestion you helped a lot when it was choosing time. I'm in a running discussion on another forum saying passive cooling with top air coolers is easily as good as NoFAn CR-95 and they don't want to believe me. You are living proof of how good top air coolers are passively.:thumb.

They use room ambient instead of actual cooler intake air temp. That's like looking at thermometer in bedroom to see what the temperature is in kitchen while you are cooling. They test inside of a case, meaning they are testing how their system performs with different coolers, not how coolers perform against each other. Their in case testing for 'real world' comparisons is a joke.

Cooling

Only 'real world' is their own. How many of our 'real world' systems are the same system theirs?. They use a before and after temperature readings instead of at same time CPU temps are peaking. There are many other variables they are not taking into account.

Each test system is different so we cannot compare one tester's results against others, They test different coolers on different days when air conditions are not the same and never / rarely run a reference test to verify current testing has same results as previous testing on same cooler. But airflow and air temperature going into cooler / radiator is the biggest problem.

I had this difficulty earlier with my previous laptop earlier the demonstrate stop on me. I'm not sure relating to the cooling pads, however the fewer than-laptop followers help, as long as you keep it plugged in on your laptop. It wastes a usb port and drains your battery somewhat, yet they do save it cooler than with no longer something in any respect. Every person ought to help, so in the journey that your strapped for money, a much less costly one ought to suffice. I picked up a Targus relax Mat at Wal-Mart for $25 and it helped. I don't be attentive to if the extra costly ones are any further proper, yet this one does its interest and it quite is fairly quiet.
