Four years ago I bought this product and it brought new life to my Tele. All of the tones a Tele picker desires were enhanced notably and sustain was increased. However, a grove wore into the forward slot of the saddles on the high E and B string from string bending. As the grove became deeper from much playing, this condition created unwanted overtones. I just ordered another set of these saddle. They are brand new and produce the same annoying overtones right out of the package. (Poor Quality Control) I was able to remove the overtones by redressing and polishing the forward radius on the saddles.

This product has the ability to make Tele tones shine. But only after the forward radius of the saddles have been reworked. This should not be! I purchased these to change out the 'bent metal' saddles on my '12 American Standard Tele. These fit perfectly! I kept some of the springs from the old saddles and used them on some of them where I wanted more tension since the springs that were included were shorter than the originals. I switched out the old saddles because I like the feel of these better on my palm for muting and there is less adjustment screw sticking out of the top.

Please note, with that said the adjustment screws for the A-B strings were still the normal longer height than both E strings. Although it was better than what I originally had the screws were still a little too high. How to install github for mac. I emailed Stew Mac to see if they could sell me a set of the shorter screws but they do not have them. Luckily enough, I was able to take the shorter screws off of another guitar and it solved the problem. You can purchase these from other vendors though if you need to but it would be nice if Stew Mac had these in stock. Also note that these are metric adjustment screws which will require a metric allen wrench and not the standard wrench that comes with the Am Standards. Even with the hassle of the screws (which is my issue not their products) this is a great replacement and worth the $.

Just installed these on my Telecaster Blacktop HH to replace the stamped metal saddles that it came with. I like these a lot, though I do have a few nitpicks that keep me from giving them a 5-star rating.

The springs are good quality metal, but they are cylindrical. So if you use any low tunings you may have to remove them or replace them with conical springs. The intonation screws are quite long, so again, if you tune low you'll have to replace or modify them so as not to pinch the strings when you set intonation. The height set screws have smooth action, but are generally too long for a low action (2/32' at the 12th fret). There were two saddles that came with shorter screws, so I used these on the first and sixth strings, but with the radius, all of them had at least a 1/16' above surface. And finally, while I like the chrome fine, it would be nice if these where offered in brushed steel like the American Standard models.

Though, I will admit that the surfaces was smooth and mirror finished. A nice product, just not perfect.
