I’ll be reviewing the Maybelline Colorsensational Creamy Matte Lipstick in the shade 657 Nude Nuance today. As you all know, I love my matte lipsticks! But as much as I love them, there’s no denying the fact that they can be rough on the lips. So when I saw Maybelline launch their much appreciated Creamy Matte range in India, I decided to get one of these to test the formula. As is expected from lipsticks in this range, Maybelline Nude Nuance delivers a rich, creamy color in just one stroke. This highly pigmented shade glides on like butter and does not hang on to or emphasise any dry spots on the lips. It is one of those lipsticks you’d want to wear when you don’t have time to scrub your lips and any other matte lipstick would just accentuate the dryness. Its that good!

And although creamy, the formula is very comfortable to wear as well. The Maybelline Nude Nuance Colorsensational Creamy Matte Lipstick comes with a silver-colored base and a mauve cap.

There are color-coded shade stickers at the base of each lipstick in this range which makes them easier to locate. It has a very distinguishable fragrance which reminds me of the typical lipstick scent when our moms used to wear lipsticks. Depending upon your preference, you may or may not like the fragrance. Very similar to MAC’s Whirl (see swatch below). Unfortunately, the shade however, is not that simple to describe. That’s because in certain lightings, it can look like a deep ashy mauve too.

It is best suited for medium to deeper skintones. Lighter skin types may find it too dark on themselves. On my NC30-35 skintone, it looks quite deep as you can tell in the pictures. Infact, the shade looks a tad deeper in person than the pictures. Formula-wise, the creamy non-sticky formula does not emphasise fine lines or dry spots on the lips.

It has a satin finish as opposed to flat matte lipstick, very similar to MAC’s satin lipstick range. The shade takes a few minutes to set after which it becomes almost non-transferable. Even more so if you blot it with a tissue. It has an average lasting time with it lasting about 4-5 hours on me with light snacks and meals.
